Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Japanese Kokugo Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching the Japanese language and literature to native speakers. The Kokugo Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a love for the Japanese language, and promoting cultural understanding among our students.
Key Responsibilities:
– Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Japanese language and literature to students at various grade levels.
– Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with both the national standards and the hybridized standards-based and IBP curricular framework of OWIS Osaka.
– Assess and evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
– Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that enhance the overall educational experience.
– Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on student progress and address any concerns.
– Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language instruction and curriculum development.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Education, Japanese Language and Literature, or a related field.
– Teaching certification in Japan or equivalent qualification.
– Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching Japanese language and literature to native speakers.
– Strong understanding of the Japanese national curriculum and educational standards.
– Experience with or willingness to learn about the IBP curricular framework.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
– Proficiency in both Japanese and English is preferred.
