Our OWIS Blue Royals basketball team gave it their all at a high-intensity camp as they prepared for their first tournament! 🏀✨

They focused on creating space under pressure, receiving on the half-turn, and developing effective moves to get past defenders—all while sharpening their passing and receiving precision.

Every movement was intentional and precise, making each pass, drive, and jump shot exciting to watch 😊

We look forward to seeing how our students apply these skills in the upcoming tournament and what valuable experiences they will gain as they continue to grow!

プレッシャー下でのスペース作り、正確なボールレシーブ、そしてディフェンダーをかわすムーブに焦点を当て、パスとレシーブの精度を徹底的に高めました。

全ての動きに意図と正確さがあり、パス、ドライブ、ジャンプショット、どれも見ていてワクワクしました😊

このキャンプで培ったスキルをトーナメントでどう活かし、どんな経験を積んで成長していくのか、OWISの生徒たちの今後が本当に楽しみです！

In our EC class, the children took part in a lesson about kindness. 😊

To experience how kindness can spread from one person to another, the students shared paper hearts they had cut out themselves, passing kindness to those around them.

Through this activity, they realised how sharing kindness can make both themselves and others feel happy 💕

Additionally, the students also made friendship bracelets together. We hope that each time they look at their bracelet, it will remind them of the joyful moments they shared today. ✨️

優しさはどんどん伝染していく、ということを体験するために、
友達と自分で切ったハートをシェアして、たくさんの優しさを周りの人に届けました！

優しさをシェアすることで、自分も周りの人もハッピーになれることが素敵だと実感することができました💕

そして、友情の証として、一緒にブレスレットを作成！
このブレスレットを見るたびに、今日の楽しい思い出が蘇ってくることと思います✨️

The Kindergarten, Class B children learned how plants support life on earth as part of our "Sharing the Planet" UOI! 🥕🥦🍠
(UOI stands for "Unit of Inquiry," a core component of the International Baccalaureate programme.)

The children explored a variety of vegetables and fruits, such as carrots, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. They observed their appearance, smelled them, and even tasted them 🥄

They investigated the look, scent, and flavour of fresh plants, then sorted them based on the part we eat—root, stem, leaf, or seed 🌱
Through this activity, the students deepened their understanding of the plant life cycle and how plants provide essential resources for living things. They documented their discoveries in a “Plant Parts We Eat” chart, making real-world connections to our central idea 📖

キンダーガーテンのクラスBのUOI授業にて、植物がどのように生命を支えているかについて学びました！🥕🥦🍠
（UOIとは、国際バカロレアプログラムにおける「探求ユニット」という授業のことです。）

子どもたちは、ニンジン、ブロッコリー、さつまいもなど様々な野菜や果物を観察し、においを嗅ぎ、味見を実施🥄

生の植物の見た目、香り、味を探求し、根、茎、葉、種など、
どの部分を食べるのかに基づいて分類しました🌱

この活動を通して、生徒たちは植物のライフサイクルや、植物がいかに生物にとって不可欠な資源を提供しているかについて理解を深めました。そして発見したことを「食べられる植物の部位」チャートに記載、私たちの中心となる考え方と実生活を結びつけるような学びができました📖

Learning about Politics with Gummy Bears! 🤔

In Grades 6 and 7, students explored different political systems around the world as part of their unit of inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves ✏️

After gaining a solid understanding, they worked in teams to represent various political systems using gummy bears 👑🐻
Each team presented their completed project to the class and every group delivered an impressive presentation! 👏

As part of their inquiry-based learning, Grade 5 students delved deep into the evolution of a technology of their choice 🚀

They researched its origins, development over time, future possibilities, and its impact on our daily lives.
Furthermore, they connected their findings to the SDGs and shared ideas for contributing to a sustainable society 🤝

Through this project, our students are developing a sense of responsibility for the future and the skills to contribute meaningfully.
