How to make instruction writing fun for Grade 1 learners

Instruction writing and interpreting is not just an essential learning as part of our English curriculum, but it’s a great communication skill to have as well. Our Grade 1 students were introduced to this new writing genre recently. Together as a class, they created the success criteria for writing an instructional report, in which they could exercise their creativity. The children then engaged in a fun experience of planting seeds and will soon write an instruction report describing the process of their growth into saplings.
