At OWIS Sarjapur, career counselling helps students understand their strengths, explore possibilities and make informed choices about their future. Aligned with the IB approach, our guidance encourages students to take ownership of their pathways and prepare for life beyond school.
Authorised SAT Test Centre
OWIS Sarjapur is an authorised Digital SAT test centre (Centre Code 17587), approved by the College Board. Students can take the SAT in a familiar school environment, with support from our counselling team. Registration is open to OWIS students as well as candidates from schools across Bangalore.
Self-understanding comes before career choice. From Grade 8, students complete a comprehensive psychometric assessment covering orientation style, interests, personality, aptitude and emotional quotient. Counsellors then translate the results into a personalised Career Action Plan, discussed in a one-to-one session with students and parents.
Every student is unique. Our counsellors provide personalised advice tailored to each student’s strengths, interests, and goals. We help students explore various career paths and find the one that suits them best.
We help students understand what different careers actually involve. Through career fairs and guest lectures, students meet professionals across a wide range of fields and hear about the work first-hand. It is often the point at which an abstract interest becomes a concrete goal.
Success in the modern world requires more than academic knowledge. Our program focuses on developing essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. These skills are crucial for both higher education and the workplace.
We host university fairs on campus, bringing admissions representatives from institutions across the world directly to our students. Students & parents ask their own questions, understand entry requirements first-hand, and build relationships with universities long before applications open.
Applying to universities can be daunting. Our team assists students with every step of the application process. From selecting the right universities to preparing application materials, we ensure students are well-prepared.
We organise regular workshops and seminars on topics like resume writing, interview skills, and career planning. These sessions equip students with the tools they need to succeed in their chosen fields.
We believe in involving parents in the career planning process. Regular meetings and updates ensure that parents are informed and can support their children in making career decisions.
Our connection with students continues well beyond graduation. Through our alumni network, students can learn from the experiences of those who have walked the same path and gain valuable insights into different career journeys. Our counsellors also remain available to guide and support students as they explore further studies, career opportunities, or new directions along the way.
With our IB curriculum, students are prepared for global opportunities. We provide information on studying and working abroad, helping students broaden their horizons.
