For most of us, summer vacations are our fondest memories. Remember how you enrolled in various hobbies and sports classes as a child? The much-needed respite from holiday homework? Summer camps are often one of the most exciting places to be during vacation time for students. And these camps are not just meant to keep children busy, these camps are meant to bring children out of the slump and help them acquire new skills!

OWIS India, a pioneer in early childhood and education, organised a Summer Camp in Bangalore from 2nd to 22nd May! It was a thrilling experience for our students who got to indulge in their favourite sports and learn some valuable skills while at it! Let’s dive a bit deeper into how OWIS Sports Summer Camp made the vacations more fun and exhilarating for the students!

OWIS Summer Sports Camp – Our Offerings

OWIS Sarjapur Summer Sports Camp welcomed students every day from 8 AM to 11 AM, motivating them to participate in a number of activities. OWIS organises one of the best summer camps in Bangalore and is renowned for its commitment to holistic education.

As one of the best schools in Bangalore, OWIS India organised its summer camp as an extension of its dedication to the overall development of the students. Here is what we offered to our students.

  • A Wide Range of Options

The camp offers an impressive array of indoor and outdoor activities for students to choose from. Students could participate in activities or sports based on their interests. Our outdoor activities included Football, Basketball, Cricket, Skating, Athletics, and Swimming. Our indoor activities included Chess, Yoga, Music, Dance, and Art.

  • Expert Coaching and Supervision

We had dedicated coaches and teachers for all activities to offer the best for our students. Our mentors ensured the safety of each student and provided them with the best possible guidance on the activities.

  • Best Facilities and Tools

OWIS Bangalore has an excellent sporting infrastructure, which provides students with the perfect setting to learn and excel. We offered students the best equipment and tools to make the most of their summer camp experience.

  • Age-Appropriate Grouping and Activities

With a broad age range from 3 to 18 years, OWIS ensures that activities, coaching techniques, and group dynamics are tailored to the developmental stage of participants. Younger children will focus on foundational skills and fun-based learning, while older participants will be taught more advanced techniques.

  • Emphasis on Fun

Our summer camp was full of fun, inclusivity, and joy! While skill development is a key objective, the camp prioritises creating a cheerful atmosphere where all children feel encouraged and motivated to participate.

What Did Our Students Learn?

Physical fitness and hobbies are paramount to a child’s development. As students spend more and more time on screen, this summer camp in Bangalore was a brilliant opportunity to participate in different activities and spend time outdoors. Here is what the OWIS students learnt at their summer camp.

  1. Enhanced Physical Fitness

As students attended the summer camp every day in the morning, it helped them stay active even during the vacations. As children engaged in regular physical activity and sports, they developed stamina, physical fitness, and flexibility.

  2. Development of New Skills

Children participated in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. This enabled them to find and develop new skills. For students who chose to pursue their hobbies, they developed new techniques and forms which refined their existing skills.

  3. Essential Life Skills

Participating in sports and group activities teaches children a lot of things. Students were exposed to teamwork, discipline, leadership, resilience, sportsmanship, problem-solving skills, and so many other skills. Children learnt a lot about these life skills as they interacted with others and worked with or against them in teams.

  4. Enhanced Social Skills

Summer camps are melting pots of diverse personalities. Children made a lot of new friends, learnt to communicate effectively, and navigated social dynamics. This not only enhanced their communication and social skills but also developed empathy in them as they helped each other through various challenges.

To Sum Up

Most good schools in Bangalore organise summer camps as a way to engage students in real life and get away from the screen. It is a common struggle for parents to keep their children away from the screen during the summer vacation. Hence, summer camps in Bangalore serve as the perfect way for students to enjoy their vacations while stimulating their minds and bodies.

OWIS India’s Summer Sports Camp was our way of ensuring that our students could utilise their vacations in the best way possible. By the end of this camp, our students were happy and glowing with the joy of having a fun summer! If you want to know more about our various programs, get in touch with our counsellors today!
