OWIS Tsukuba is located on the site of the former Tsukuba Elementary School (筑波小学校).

Car Access & Parking

Yes, we do have visitor parking. If the gate is closed, visitors can manually open it to enter.

Please be aware that there are no other private or public car parks available around the school.

Train Access

The closest train station to OWIS Tsukuba is Tsukuba JR Station. From there, you can either reach the school by city bus or on-demand shared taxi (see below).

From there, you can take the Tsukuba San Shuttle Bus. This bus takes you from Tsukuba Station to Numata in 30 minutes.

It takes 13 minutes to walk from Numata to the school.

City Bus Access

From Tsukuba Station, you can take the bus and get off at the “Numata” (沼田) bus stop. It takes about 30 minutes from Tsukuba Station to the Numata stop.

From there it is approximately a 15-minute walk to OWIS Tsukuba.

On-Demand Tsukuba Taxi Service

“Tsuku-taku,” is the city’s on-demand shared taxi service.

There is already a designated stop located right in front of our school gate, and the City of Tsukuba recently updated the stop name to “One World International School Tsukuba.”

Each stop has its own designated number. “One World International School Tsukuba” is stop A006 in the Tsukuba area.

Please note that Tsuku-taku is a reservation-based shared taxi service, so advance booking is required. It can also be used by passengers who live outside Tsukuba City.

Additional Access for OWIS School Students

During 08:10-08:30 and 15:40-16:00, the school is open for parents to drop-off and pick-up their children on school days.

OWIS School Bus

OWIS students also have the option of using the dedicated OWIS school bus. The schedule is subject to change as the school grows, and we fully intend to add additional buses and bus routes to the timetable as we increase in student number.
