Learning at OWIS
Discover how the Learning Programmes at OWIS Osaka & OWIS Tsukuba will help in supporting all aspects of your child’s development – academic, physical, social and emotional.
Student Learning
Our learning programmes help support all aspects of your child’s development – academic, physical, social, and emotional. Our well-rounded approach to K12 education prepares children to thrive in all areas of student life, putting them on track to become impactful global citizens.
Values-Driven Education
Our values are woven into every aspect of learning. Our school values are Global Engagement & Adaptability, Community & Inclusivity, Creativity & Innovation, Kindness, and Mindful independence. Learn more about the OWIS Japan values here
Safe & Nurturing Environment
From the campus facilities to the qualified and trained staff, OWIS fosters a sense of safety and belonging as students explore the world around them and consider different perspectives and cultures. We encourage students to display values of kindness and reward good behaviour to encourage these values.
Inquiry-Based Approach
Our curriculum empowers students to take ownership of their learning and become independent thinkers from an early age. We develop student agency by supporting the learner's choices to drive their learning. Special events, field trips, and class projects also encourage them to display talent outside the classroom.
Academic Excellence & Personalised Learning
We focus on teaching and learning excellence, and as a result, our teachers will personalise their students’ learning journeys by trying to understand their strengths and interests. This will allow students to develop a passion for their education that traditional learning methods struggle to maintain.
Extensive English Support
Our Academic English Preparation (AEP) Programme supports non-native English speakers in building the essential language skills for active participation in school, so your child will be able to fully engage in classroom activities and succeed in their studies.
Embracing Diversity
We have students of various nationalities studying under one roof. Our school becomes a melting pot of diverse cultures which helps young learners integrate through mutual respect and understanding.
