Learn More about our Spring Carnival Co-organisers!...

American Chamber of Commerce ACCJ at OWIS Osaka Event

Who are the American Chamber of Commerce Japan (ACCJ)?

The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) is a non-profit organisation that fosters US-Japan commerce, advocates for US companies, and aims to enhance Japan’s business environment. They are implementing the Healthy Urban Gardening (HUG) project initiative at the OWIS Spring Carnival to encourage sustainable living and reduce food waste.

The ACCJ organises around 500 annual events for networking, provides insights through top speakers, engages in advocacy with government entities to strengthen economic ties, and supports local communities through charity collaborations.

Food Bank Kansai

Who are the Food Bank Kansai (FBK)?

The Food Bank Kansai (FBK) will be collecting donations for non-perishable goods at our Spring Carnival, so we welcome your donations.

The FBK collects surplus food from companies and households to distribute to those in need, combating food waste and supporting community welfare.

Annually, Japan generates about 5.23 million tons of food waste, while one in eight children faces food scarcity. The organization helps alleviate this by connecting excess food with those who need it, reducing disposal costs for businesses, lowering environmental impacts, and enhancing corporate social responsibility (CSR). Through these efforts, Food Bank Kansai fosters a supportive, interconnected community.
