On December 11th, 2023, OWIS Osaka students embarked on an enriching field trip to Banpaku Park and the National Museum of Ethnology, an outing that perfectly complemented their “Who We Are?” Units of Inquiry. This day-long adventure provided a hands-on experience that enhanced their understanding of global cultures and festivals.
The day began with a group photo at the iconic Tower of the Sun, setting a spirited tone for the day. By 10:30 AM, the students were deep into their exploration at the National Museum of Ethnology, where they delved into various cultures, broadening their perspectives and enriching their appreciation for global diversity.
Post-lunch, the young explorers had a blast during their free time in Banpaku Park, followed by a hike up the Nordic Lookout. The climb not only offered spectacular views but also a moment to connect with nature and reflect on the interconnectedness of the world themes discussed during the trip.
The excursion concluded with students returning to school by 3:00 PM, filled with new insights and stories to share. This trip was not only educational but also a great way for students to bond with their peers outside the classroom, fostering a sense of community and teamwork. Safety was a top priority throughout the day, with stringent measures and careful supervision ensuring a smooth and secure experience for everyone involved.
This successful excursion underscores OWIS Osaka’s commitment to providing students with a holistic education that includes real-world applications of their classroom learning.
