OWIS Osaka’s first Sports Day! Students are placed into one of four Houses: Willow, Wisteria, Acacia & Flame

OWIS Osaka Celebrates Its Inaugural Sports Day

OWIS Osaka marked a memorable milestone with its first-ever Sports Day, an event filled with spirit, competition, and community involvement. Over 100 students across four newly formed houses—Willow (Green), Acacia (Yellow), Flame (Red), and Wisteria (Blue)—competed in a variety of athletic events, including long jump, hacky sack target throw, tug of war, relay races, and shot put.

The atmosphere was electric as parents and teachers enthusiastically cheered from the sidelines, supporting their teams with fervor and pride. The competition was friendly but fierce, culminating in a closely contested points tally. Team Flame took the lead with 420 points, followed by Acacia with 370 points, Willow close behind at 365, and Wisteria rounding out the scores with 350 points.

This event not only showcased the athletic skills of our students but also strengthened our school community, bringing together students, parents, and staff in a celebration of sportsmanship and teamwork. We look forward to building on this tradition in the years to come and can’t wait to see what next year’s Sports Day has in store!
