OWIS is proud to be part of the Global Schools Group (GSG), a network of schools with over 600 awards and 64+ campuses in 11 countries. With students from more than 70 nationalities, our community offers children the experience of growing up in a truly international environment while still feeling supported and at home.
Our global network offers many powerful benefits; seamless school transfers make international moves easier, while shared expertise ensures consistently high standards of teaching and learning across all GSG campuses. Students also gain unique opportunities to participate in global events such as Model United Nations, cultural exchanges, and collaborative cultural projects with other students and educators around the world.
We operate 11 international school brands across India, Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom.
OWIS was acquired by GSG in 2015, and this allowed us to widen our outreach to the international student community.
Our OWIS Nanyang campus welcomed its first students in January 2018 after we successfully competed against 11 other K-12 international schools to win a tender offered by Singapore’s Economic Development Board for our Nanyang school site. We started our second campus in the East of Singapore in January 2020 at Mountbatten.
GSG has grown tremendously since its humble beginnings in 2002. To carry out our shared mission, the OWIS leadership team collaborates with the GSG team in multiple areas of synergy, creating a better product for our students.
Governance - We strive to follow best practices as we seek not only to achieve our goals but also those of GSG.
Efficiency in day-to-day operations - Optimising our management procedures in areas such as accounting, finance, and IT infrastructure enables us to make the best use of available resources.
Educational excellence - For each of our campuses, our Academic and Examination Board establishes rigorous academic standards. Each of our schools caters to a distinct community, and our programmes are tailored accordingly.
Virtual Video Conferences -Students get access to cross-cultural collaborations with other OWIS teachers and students in other parts of the world to learn about specialised subjects and multicultural learning.
Student Exchange Programme - All OWIS students get the chance to travel to other campuses within our network to experience other cultures first-hand, making adaptable and globally-ready graduates.
GSG schools have a strong track record of academic achievement, with students excelling in IB, Cambridge, and CBSE examinations. Each year, thousands of our graduates progress to world-leading universities—including Oxford, Cambridge, University of Washington, National University of Singapore, and Keio University in Japan—empowered with the skills, confidence, and global mindset to thrive anywhere in the world.
GSG also provides advisors to OWIS:
Global Schools Group is committed to maintaining high standards in governance, curriculum quality and management. To consistently ensure best practices in teaching and learning, we invite key stakeholders to work with the board to improve OWIS and GSG. Their feedback helps us incorporate policies and practices that have established us as leaders in international education.
The mission of GSG parallels our vision for OWIS: to prepare students to become dynamic global leaders of the future. We look forward to working together to fulfil our shared vision of providing a well-rounded education that brings out the best in each of our students, allowing them to reach their full potential.
