Deepavali Celebrations 2022

Deepavali is one of the many cultural festivals celebrated in Singapore. Our students at both campuses had the opportunity to revel in the colourful traditions of the festival this year. They dressed up in traditional Indian clothes, enjoyed watching and participating in energetic dance and music performances during the assembly, tasted some delicious sweets and delicacies sent by parents in their classrooms, and painted small earthen lamps (known as ‘diyas’), which are typically lit during the festival in Indian homes.

At the Suntec campus, students used the occasion to spread some joy in the community. They bought shirts and treats to donate to a construction crew of migrant workers, and our Grade 5 students went the extra mile to make the delivery to the workers at the site. The students did an excellent job of wishing the workers “Happy Diwali” and “Thank you for your hard work – stay safe.”

Our thanks to the members of the Diwali Committees of both campuses and to the OPC for the wonderful decorations that really set the tone for the joyous celebration.
