What does learning look like in an IB PYP classroom? 💡
At OWIS Punggol, we believe that learning goes beyond textbooks, encouraging students to ask questions, explore ideas and make meaningful connections with the world around them.
Last Friday, we welcomed our parents for an IB PYP Curriculum Workshop led by our PYP Coordinator, Ms Asmita Sharma, and Literacy and Numeracy Coordinator, Ms Buna Chitty.
Together, we explored how inquiry-based learning comes to life in our classrooms and how literacy and numeracy are woven into everyday learning experiences to nurture curious, confident and independent learners.

If there’s one thing we love most at OWIS, it’s a good excuse to dress up! And today, our students and teachers certainly understood the assignment 🧛♀️

🏐 Two wins, and the girls are undefeated at home! 💙
A big congratulations to our U12 Girls Netball team on their second win of the season, taking home a 17–5 victory 🎉
Beyond the scoreboard, it`s been amazing to see how much the girls have grown as a team. They`re finding their voices on the court, communicating more confidently and looking out for one another, all while having fun along the way!

Earlier this week, our Grade 10 IGCSE Music students joined Grade 7B for a guitar lesson, but this time, they took on the role of teachers!
From sharing tips to helping their juniors get the chords right, we love seeing moments like these, where our older students pass on what they`ve learnt while their younger peers pick up new skills along the way.
A fun reminder that sometimes, we learn best from one another! 💙

What does a game of tug of war have to do with gravity? 🌎
Quite a lot, actually! 💪🏼
Our students have been exploring gravity, mass and weight in Science, learning that while mass is the amount of matter in an object, weight is the force of gravity acting on it.
To put their learning to the test, Mr Bernhardi took the lesson outdoors for a friendly game of tug of war to explore how mass affects a team`s ability to pull.
Despite having more players, the girls lost the first round. But what happens when a teacher joins their team? 👀
Through this activity, students explored how mass, weight and forces come into play, and how friction, strength and teamwork can make all the difference!
So, who do you think won the next round? Girls or boys? 🤔

Four matches into the ACSIS season, our U14 Boys Badminton team continues to bring their determination and fighting spirit to the court, securing an impressive 5–0 victory in their latest fixture!
But beyond the scoreline, it`s the smiles and laughter on the court that make these moments even more special. Our boys have found their rhythm, keeping things light, enjoying every rally and reminding us that a little fun goes a long way!

Lab sessions are always a favourite when we get to see science come to life!🦠
This time, our Grade 8 students joined Ms Mischelle for a closer look at the world of plants, using microscopes to observe chloroplasts and explore how plants make their own food 🔎
We love how hands-on learning turns curiosity into discovery! From seeing the tiniest details up close to asking bigger questions about the world around them, there’s always something exciting to uncover at OWIS 💙

Our Grade 6 students brought angles to life through hands-on activities, using recycled paper models, working together to demonstrate angle relationships, and exploring a “Tape Town” to identify angles formed by parallel lines 🗺️
Beyond understanding mathematical concepts, students developed their problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills as they explored, explained and applied what they had learnt 💡
By connecting classroom concepts to real-world experiences, students build the confidence to think critically and see how Math is relevant beyond the classroom.
