During the lesson on 17 September, students worked collaboratively in groups of four and each took on professional/athletic roles:
1️⃣ 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭 – diagnosed the injury by identifying the joint, joint type and specific bones involved, and explained the reasoning behind the diagnosis.
🔍 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 – analysed the normal range of movement at the joint, identified the specific movement taking place when the injury occurred and explained how that movement contributed to the injury.
👟 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭/𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 – remained in character, explaining the sporting context, what happened at the moment of injury and how the injury felt.
🧢 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 – provided specific and practical strategies to prevent the injury, linking these back to the joint type and movement involved.
Students were tested on their knowledge of accurate IGCSE PE terminology before being assessed using a 24-mark summative assessment - covering diagnosis, explanation of joint movement, sporting context, injury prevention, teamwork and [quantity and quality of] presentation skills

We are so proud of our newly appointed IBPYP Grade 5 House Captains, who recently stepped up to their very first challenge by helping organise two energetic primary-level assemblies.

Grade 2 students had an exciting and meaningful learning experience during their field trip to KOK Fah Technology Farm, where they connected their learning from UOI 1 – Farm to Consumers with real-life experiences.
Students explored how food travels from the farm to the consumer and discovered how technology is used to grow plants in a hydroponic greenhouse. They enjoyed seeing how vegetables can be grown in a controlled environment and gained a deeper understanding of where our food comes from.
To complete their experience, students had the opportunity to taste fresh salad, 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝.

🎉 GSG25 has officially begun! 🎉
This year, we’re celebrating 25 years of learning, growing and building communities that believe in the power of education to shape a better future. 🌏💛
What started with just 48 students on a single campus has grown into a global community of 64 campuses across 11 countries and 45,000 students and OWIS is proud to be part of this journey.
Our GSG25 opening ceremony at the Global Village Campus brought together students, educators, community leaders and distinguished guests, including Singapore’s Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Mr Edwin Tong and India’s High Commissioner to Singapore, His Excellency Shilpak Ambule.
From student-led exhibitions and the launch of the commemorative anniversary book to inspiring examples of student innovation, the celebration was a wonderful reflection of what happens when young people are given the space to learn, explore and create with purpose.
And there’s more to look forward to — with S$100,000 committed to community causes across Singapore and 20 new campuses planned by 2030, the next chapter is already taking shape. ✨

On 15 September 2026, OWIS Nanyang was privileged to welcome John Sprague, an experienced TOK educator, IB examiner, workshop leader and author, to work directly with our IBDP Grade 11 and Grade 12 students.
Mr Sprague brings 26 years of experience as a TOK educator - and during the workshop, our IBDP students were privy to his knowledge and guidance, getting into intense group discussions and interactive segments that allowed them to build and strengthen their TOK foundations and structures.
It was a day filled with inquiry, ideas and practical strategies with a renowned TOK expert - and together, they strengthened their understanding, built skills, and inspired meaningful learning across their school community.

John Sprague has spent over two decades in the TOK classroom. He now works with schools and educators around the world, supporting them in creating engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, reflection, and meaningful inquiry.

On 15 September 2026, the OWIS Newton community came together to celebrate one full year since the campus officially began operations and welcomed students and their families proper!
The OWIS Newton family has more than quadrupled since we opened our doors - now bringing together approximately 20 cultures from all over the world into our community focusing on kindness, diversity, and respect.
The day culminated in a commemorative dance party and cake-eating session - as the students and staff celebrated a successful year of empathy and curiosity in the classrooms and looked towards the future of building an even bigger and better 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲!

A big congratulations to Cara F.! 🏐
Cara and her team, @anzanetball_sg, finished 3rd in the U17 Schools & Clubs category at the Deloitte Pesta Sukan 2026 Netball Tournament! With 14 teams competing in their category, it’s a fantastic team achievement 👏
Beyond the competition, the tournament also raised $25,000 for SHINE Children and Youth Services, supporting youth mental health and wellbeing through its grovve initiative. 💙
