Embarking on an exhilarating field trip, our Grade 3 students at One World International School (OWIS) Digital Campus* eagerly stepped into the captivating realm of structural design, harmonising with the overarching theme of their third unit, “How the World Works.” At the heart of this educational adventure was to support the central idea that “The design of structures is dependent upon a variety of factors.”
The journey unfolded against the backdrop of iconic landmarks, including the awe-inspiring Marina Bay Sands, the graceful Helix Bridge, and the culturally rich National Art Museum. These architectural wonders became living textbooks, offering students a tangible exploration of the intricate interplay between design and the myriad factors shaping our built environment. This hands-on experience not only captivated their imagination but also deepened their understanding of the complexities inherent in creating these monumental structures.
