Early Childhood learners engage in fun hands-on learning
Our youngest learners at OWIS Nanyang have been having fun while learning origami, the fine art of paper folding.
In IB PYP Grade 2, students designed their own clocks using a variety of resources. Once the clocks had been made, they each wrote five different times using am, pm, 12 hour and 24 hour times, and their group members then indicated that time on the clock.
This practical learning activity recapped and reinforced our learners’ abilities to tell the time. It also encouraged teamwork and highlighted the importance of communication to successfully work together to complete set tasks.
Interestingly, this particular lesson could be adapted for outdoor learning as well as a fun movement activity.
