Angela earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree from University of Guelph, Canada, her Bachelor of Education degree from Lakehead University, Canada, and her Master of Education degree from Columbia College, USA. She also holds a Certificate of International Leadership from Principal Training Centre, UK, besides other academic qualifications. She was awarded the Apple Distinguished Educator distinction in 2011.
Angela’s previous role was as the PYP Principal of a well-known international primary school in the East of Singapore. As a school leader, Angela believes in student-centred education, promotes student agency and values community involvement. She is future-focused to ensure opportunities for all learners and believes that all stakeholders play an essential role in education. She is also an advocate for teacher autonomy with support and coaching.
At our new Digital Campus in Punggol, Angela looks forward to bringing the mission and vision of the school to life within an amazing state-of-the-art building.

Angela is from Canada, but Singapore has been home for her for the past 18 years. A senior professional in the education sector, she has over 33 years of experience in teaching and school leadership roles in Canada, USA, and Singapore. She has taught children in different grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 6, and has nurtured the development of her students through Special Education, Art and Drama as well. She knew from a very early age that she wanted to become a teacher, as her grandmother and mother were also educators.

Wong Chi-Wen
Born and raised in Singapore, Chi-Wen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (Economics and Finance) from the University of Sydney, Australia and has also completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
With over 20 years of experience in diverse positions within the Ministry of Education, National Institute of Education and international schools in China, Chi-Wen has acquired a wealth of expertise as a teacher, academic researcher, head of a department and school administrator. His knowledge extends across the Cambridge, Singapore, and Chinese curricula, and he possesses a strong command of student-centric learning approaches like STEAM and Problem-Based Learning.
Chi-Wen considers himself incredibly fortunate to have drawn inspiration from numerous teachers, including his father, who is also an educator. Their wise advice and mentorship have profoundly impacted him, leaving a positive imprint on his life. It brings him great delight and a sense of honour to pass on this knowledge and guidance to others within the school community. As a teacher and school leader, he eagerly anticipates witnessing the joyful and beaming faces of his students each day. Chi-Wen firmly believes that this profound sense of joy and fulfilment is unmatched by any other profession.

Asmita Sharma
Asmita holds a Master of Philosophy in Education, a Master of Science, an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Penn Foster College in the USA, a Leadership Course from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Leadership (ADECL) from NIEC in Singapore.
Asmita has over 15 years of international teaching experience, specialising in the IB approach and Reggio Emilia curriculum across international schools in Singapore and India.
At the core of her teaching philosophy lies the conviction that every child possesses unique qualities and progresses at their own pace. In her role as an educator, she is dedicated to offering culturally, linguistically, and developmentally diverse learning opportunities, enabling children to take ownership of their learning. She firmly asserts that a secure and nurturing environment is indispensable for fostering a child’s physical, cognitive, and creative development.
In her leisure time, Asmita derives joy from quality family time, travelling, and dancing. Relocating to Singapore alongside her beloved family in 2010, they have come to regard the country as their cherished second home. Asmita delights in the enchantment of living in Singapore, finding its numerous charms and attractions truly captivating. Pooja has over 12 years of experience nurturing, teaching, and educating young learners. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University in India, a Diploma in Nursery and Primary Teachers Training from Polytechnic for Women in India, a Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers & Trainers from Cambridge International in Singapore, an Early Childhood Education from WSQ Professional Diploma in Singapore, and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Monash University in Australia.
She firmly believes that every child embarks on a unique learning journey, and it falls upon educators to establish a nurturing environment where students can flourish and explore at their own pace. To achieve this, she adheres to a personal philosophy centred around their vital principles including interaction, patience, and love. By fostering meaningful interactions, she aims to develop a strong connection with each child, promoting open communication and cultivating a foundation of trust.

Lulu holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Hong Kong. With more than 15 years of experience in the field of education, the majority of her career has been dedicated to teaching IB. Her versatile background includes roles as a Chinese teacher, a Chinese Bilingual homeroom teacher, an English teacher, and her current position as an EC3 teacher.
Lulu is a passionate educator who takes great joy in working with children. She also finds Singapore’s vibrant cultural diversity and the open-mindedness of its people truly captivating. Additionally, she enjoys the wide array of international cuisine options available and the pleasant climate of the country.

Chermaine Gan Jia Ying
Chermaine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Monash University in Australia. She has over six years of experience teaching Early Childhood in Singapore, specialising in the Reggio Emilia approach.
As an educator, Chermaine is confident that all children, regardless of age, are capable thinkers and communicators. She is passionate about creating an innovative, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment that encourages children to explore and enjoy the process of learning. As a curious, hands-on, and creative individual, she hopes to instil a love for learning in children, supporting them to ask questions, experiment, and discover their interests. She believes that the early years are a critical time for laying the foundation of lifelong learning, and she is committed to providing each child with the tools they need to thrive academically and socially.

Umairah Binte Abdul Samad
Umairah commenced her journey as a trainee teacher in 2020 and has consistently continued her role as an educator since then. She earned her N-Level from Siglap Secondary School, Nitec in Community Care & Social Services from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), and Advanced Certificate in Early Years from the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC).
She adheres to a teaching philosophy centred around establishing a solid educational groundwork and fostering an environment conducive to nurturing children’s social and emotional competencies.
Umairah’s motivation to become a teacher stemmed from her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children and, ideally, ignite a similar passion in others.

Jessica Liu Haiyan
Jessica embarked on her teaching journey in China in 2002 before relocating to Singapore in 2007. Before becoming a part of OWIS Digital Campus, her career encompassed diverse roles at several international schools in Singapore. She functioned as an educational therapist and specialised teacher of the Chinese language, extending tailored support to learners with Dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, and ASD. Moreover, Jessica gained valuable experience as a bilingual homeroom teacher proficient in both Chinese and English. Her contributions also extended to being a Chinese language acquisition teacher, fostering the holistic growth of children through the lenses of Literacy, Mathematics, and Units of Inquiry.
She holds an English Education Degree from Xinjiang Normal University in China. In addition, she boasts an array of certifications, which encompass a Teachers Certificate for Teaching English in Senior High School, a Specialist Diploma in Educational Therapy for Chinese Support, a Certificate for Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (CTCSOL), a Certificate in Dyslexia and Chinese Language Support, and a Certificate of Dyslexia Study.
Jessica’s teaching philosophy centres around the belief that education should be student-centred and teacher-led. She firmly believes that her role entails providing students with avenues to engage with subjects through experiential learning, both within the classroom and in outdoor settings. Belinda holds a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Arts with Majors in Chinese and Psychology from the University of Queensland. She also has a Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education Teaching from the National Institute of Early Childhood Development Singapore.
With a background of more than two years working in international schools, her teaching philosophy centres around the belief that every student possesses the potential to excel when they are actively engaged in the learning process. She takes pride in creating a nurturing and supportive educational environment, fostering active discovery learning, and promoting holistic development among her students.
During her free time, she enjoys playing the Guzheng. In Singapore, her heart resonates with the rich culture, the quality of life, and the delectable hawker cuisine that the country has to offer.

Angeline Swee
Angeline earned her Bachelor of Business Communication and Master of Business Communication degrees both from Queensland University of Technology. Additionally, she holds a Master of Education in Curriculum Planning and Teaching as well as a Diploma in Education both awarded by the National Institute of Education in Singapore.
She is a trained PAP teacher with over two decades of teaching experience. Her extensive expertise in curriculum planning and teaching was honed through training at the National Institute of Education, NTU, Singapore. Her teaching journey has extended beyond the border of Singapore as she has taught in Indonesia, Thailand, and Australia. Throughout her career, she has adeptly prepared numerous Asian students for examinations in Singapore, Britain, and Australia.
At the core of her teaching philosophy is the commitment to nurturing students to reach their fullest potential, equipping them to become responsible global citizens capable of pursuing their own happiness. Her inspiration to become an educator stems from a profound desire to transform lives and leave a lasting positive impact on the world.

Saidatana Fairuz
Saida had the privilege of working in both local and international schools in Singapore for over 17 years. Her teaching experience ranges from Early Childhood to Grade 5 in both homerooms and specialist classes.
She holds a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from London Teachers’ Training College and a Master of Education from Nanyang Technological University.
Saida strongly believes in creating a classroom environment where students not only develop skills to excel academically but also grow into compassionate and well-rounded individuals. Learning is her passion and she strives to positivity instil the same passion in her students.
During her free time, she enjoys journaling, calligraphy, and travelling. Additionally, her love for languages drives her to continually learn new ones. She currently has a limited working proficiency in Mandarin and Korean.

Pooja Khanna
Pooja holds a Bachelor of Home Science from SNDT Women’s University in India, a Diploma in Preschool Education Teaching from Modern Montessori International Academy in Singapore, a BA (HONS) in Early Childhood Care and Education from the University of Warwick in the UK, and an International Educator Certificate (IEC) for IB PYP from the University of Windsor in Canada.
With over 15 years of experience across various international schools and local preschools in Singapore, Pooja has acquired extensive proficiency in teaching both the IB and American-based curricula.
In her role as an educator, her teaching philosophy centres on cultivating a learning atmosphere that is centred around the student, emphasising inquiry-based learning. By promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment, she aims to instil the values of respect, empathy, and global citizenship, equipping students to actively engage as contributors in our interconnected global community.
During her leisure hours, Pooja primarily immerses herself in physical activities such as Zumba and brisk walking. Additionally, she also loves going to the gym to maintain her well-being and manage stress. Mallika Sinha
After pursuing degrees in Mathematics and Economics and embarking on a corporate career, Mallika quickly realised her passion lay in the empowerment of children and continuous learning. She switched to teaching and, at the same time, earned her relevant university qualifications in the field of education.
She now has over eight years of experience in teaching students in the primary grades. She believes that it is her mission to help children experience new things, keeping in mind that they are on the path to becoming experts. Her priority is to create a safe, fun-filled, positive, and collaborative classroom environment where students are welcomed at the door with a smile.
In her time at OWIS Digital Campus, she looks forward to being a part of the dynamic and inspiring team that works towards the school’s mission of creating inquiring, compassionate, and reflective lifelong learners who respect all cultures and care for the world. In her free time, she enjoys singing and she is a trained Indian classical dancer.

Noor Abdullah
Noor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Family and Children Education from Edith Cowan University in Australia, complemented by a TESOL Diploma obtained from the London Teacher Training College. Furthermore, she has completed specialised training as an IB educator in Kuwait.
With a teaching career spanning over two decades and taking her to various countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Australia, and Singapore, she has accumulated a wealth of diverse experiences. Her role as an IB homeroom teacher encompassed instructing subjects such as English, Math, Science, and the IB Inquiry.
In her role as an educator, Noor instils in her students the belief in becoming lifelong learners who actively engage in their own educational journey. She places a strong emphasis on nurturing an environment that is conducive to growth and happiness, always mindful of the individual needs of her students.
During her free time, she enjoys travelling with her family, reading, cooking, and doing craftwork.

Assel Aldiyarova
Assel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from South Kazakhstan State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Philology, specializing in English and German Languages, from Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages. She has furthered her education with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (International) from the University of Nottingham in the UK and obtained a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language Certification from i-to-i in the UK.
After a decade-long career in business advisory and educational projects in Kazakhstan, she transitioned into the field of education, where she has dedicated nearly four years to her teaching journey. During this time, she has provided tutoring in business and economics in Kazakhstan and has also taught English to learners aged 4 to 11 in Shenzhen, China.
At the core of her teaching philosophy is building a favourable learning environment that nurtures the growth of every student. Within the classroom, she places a strong emphasis on establishing a culture of trust and security, where children are empowered to openly express their thoughts and ideas. Additionally, she promotes collaborative learning and instils values of respect and empathy for others among her students.
Assel and her family moved to Singapore two years ago. Since then, their experience living in the country has been nothing short of incredible. The juxtaposition of Singapore’s modernity with its profound cultural heritage has fashioned a distinctive and highly enjoyable atmosphere that they wholeheartedly relish.

Zahraa Binte Burhanuddin
Zahraa holds a Pharmaceutical Sciences Diploma from Nanyang Polytechnic, a Teaching and Learning for Allied Educators (Secondary) Specialist Diploma from the National Institute of Education (NIE), a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (with Merit) from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), and a School Counselling Diploma from NIE.
With close to ten years of teaching expertise, she has imparted knowledge in various local and international educational settings within Singapore. Her instructional background spans across primary and secondary levels, particularly in the field of Science.
Zahraa strongly resonates with the two core values at OWIS: respect for diversity and international mindedness. Living in Singapore, a country that prioritises harmony amid diversity and global perspectives, she has gained a profound understanding of the significance of embracing diversity, respecting various cultures, and valuing traditions.
During her free time, Zahraa loves to read, dance, workout, listen to music and complete word searches.

Rushda Abdul Rahman
With more than a decade of experience in the education field, Rushda has fulfilled various roles within the sector. Her journey encompasses positions, including assistant teacher, playgroup teacher, and robotics instructor in Singapore.
Rushda holds a WSQ Introduction to Student and Youth Care from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, a Certificate in Infant and Toddler from Seed Institute, and a Fundamentals in Early Childhood Care & Development from First Learning Training Centre.
She believes that children can learn well when they are accepted for who they are in their learning journey. She holds the conviction that teaching is a task that is full of excitement and joy.

Sabrina Binte Abdurazak
With a background in various preschools in Singapore, Sabrina boasts over five years of hands-on experience. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree from Asian International College.
Sabrina’s motivation for embarking on a teaching journey stems from her desire to wield a positive influence on the lives of children. She accomplishes this mission by embodying the qualities of kindness, compassion, empathy, and enthusiasm.
She eagerly looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to the educational achievements of students on their learning journey at OWIS Digital Campus.
Science Teacher
Amrutha Raman
Amrutha Raman originally hails from Bangalore India where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Microbiology from the University of Bangalore. Amrutha started her career 16 years ago as a lecturer. She has taught graduate and post-graduate students and trained them in the field of Bacteriology and Industrial Microbiology. She later pursued her MBA in Industrial Relationship and Personal Management from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (affiliated with Mumbai University).
Later, Amrutha decided to slightly change her career focus as she was passionate about working with younger students and hence earned a degree in Nursery Teachers Training and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Currently, she has an ongoing Master of Arts in Education with Leadership and Administration and a Ph.D. in Education.
Amrutha worked in several international schools in India teaching students of different age groups (across pre-primary, primary and secondary) and also worked as an assistant to a child psychologist trying to understand child psychology while working with children with special needs.
Amrutha is excited to share her knowledge and expertise with her secondary students at OWIS. She looks forward to engaging and guiding her students to become internationally minded.
Amrutha is also a professional Indian Carnatic classical singer, a stage performer and an All India Radio artist with over twenty years experience in training students in the field of music. She loves travelling and trying authentic cuisines. Her passion for travel has taken her to various places in Asia, Europe and Africa. She enjoys physical fitness with her family and loves cycling, scuba diving, hiking, camping, playing badminton and dancing. Married to a software engineer, Amrutha and her husband are proud parents to their son, Ruthvik.

Lawrence Boicey
Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University in Canada and an Education Diploma from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia.
With a teaching career spanning over 15 years, he has imparted knowledge to students across Canada and Asian countries, including South Korea, Australia, and Vietnam.
As a seasoned educator, he upholds the importance of incorporating 21st-century learning skills and embracing cutting-edge pedagogical approaches, all aimed at fostering student engagement and motivation to excel in their academic pursuits.
Outside of work, Lawrence loves spending quality moments with his lovely wife and engaging in sports activities with his three energetic young sons.

Jennifer Leigh
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of English Language and Literature from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, a Master of Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona, a Post Baccalaureate Teaching from Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona, a Gifted Teaching Credential from Central New Mexico Community College and endorsements/qualifications for Secondary English, Elementary Pre K-8, Computer Science, Library Science, Gifted and Reading Specialist.
Before embarking on her teaching journey, she gained professional experience in the writing and software development sectors. Her teaching expertise encompasses Library Media, Geometry, Algebra, Special Education Math and English. Additionally, she has experience in teaching students with autism.
In her teaching philosophy, she believes every child is precious and worthy of care, guidance and encouragement as they grow into compassionate, capable and contributing individuals. She advocates for providing challenges to all students, recognising that embracing mistakes and deriving lessons from them cultivates resilience, perseverance and a drive to pursue even the loftiest aspirations.
Jennifer has three rules in her teaching: be kind, learn all of the good things that you can and help others learn all of the good things that they can. She firmly believes these rules encapsulate every learning standard, value and educational philosophy.
In her leisure hours, Jennifer finds joy in a diverse range of activities, including hiking, swimming, painting, training dogs, exploring new destinations, designing jewellery, reading, dancing, home remodelling, engaging in service projects and above all else — spending time with family.

Amir Kalik
Amir holds an NIE Master of Education (Developmental Psychology), a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Sociology, and a Specialist Diploma in Applied Learning and Teaching.
With over 10 years of experience in education, Amir had the privilege of working with a range of students from diverse backgrounds. This experience has honed his ability to comprehend the unique requirements of each student and to craft a nurturing and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Amir’s classroom is a place where creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration thrive. Through interactive and hands-on activities, Amir strives to engage students in fostering a love for learning. He believes in empowering students to take ownership of their education and encouraging them to explore their curiosities through thought-provoking questions.
In his role as an educator, Amir demonstrates a steadfast commitment to continuous professional development, consistently staying up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and technologies. Tang Kuan Shuen
Kuan Shuen boasts more than a decade of experience in the field of education. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with students, lecturers, and teachers from various regions across Malaysia. Her professional journey has encompassed diverse roles, ranging from a national educational researcher and regular education teacher to positions as a science coordinator, head of the science department, head of the examination unit, and deputy head of a secondary school.
She possesses a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Biology and a minor in Mathematics. Her latest achievement involves her participation in a doctoral programme specialising in Chemistry Education.
In her point of view, education constitutes a lifelong process rooted in the real world. Her unwavering principle has consistently revolved around prioritising students when making educational choices. Drawing from her wealth of experiences, a commitment to continuous learning, and an unwavering focus on students, she eagerly anticipates delivering the utmost support to our students.

Michael Chan
Michael holds a Diploma in Education from the Nanyang Technological University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Melbourne.
His second career began in 1999, marking the inception of his journey in education. This path led him through various educational institutions in Singapore and China, encompassing both local and international schools. Proficient in both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the Singaporean curriculum, he initially imparted knowledge in Economics and Mathematics. However, it was in the realm of Global Perspectives that his expertise truly flourished, aligning seamlessly with his extensive background in world economics, politics, and anthropology, all infused with a substantial dose of critical thinking.
In his philosophy, teaching combines elements of entertainment, the imparting of knowledge, and fostering character development, all seamlessly intertwined. He firmly believes that students possess an innate ability to discern whether a teacher genuinely cares for their well-being or regards them merely as a professional duty. Students seek educators who inspire, challenge, and provide unwavering support to help them thrive.
Michael initially aspired to become a pastor but found his true calling as a teacher. He believes that both roles involve a calling to inspire individuals to reach greater heights and to facilitate their growth into better versions of themselves. He has embraced the calling that allows him to reach out to and positively influence the lives of youth and children.
In his free time, Michael finds pleasure in both writing and reading. Although he is a born and bred Singaporean, he has spent a significant 12-year period living and working abroad. Despite occasional frequent “complaints” about how small Singapore is, he appreciates the good governance and cherishes his connections with friends and family in his homeland.

Warren holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Concordia University in Chicago and a Master of Fine Arts in Theater for Youth from Arizona State University.
Warren started his teaching career in 1971 in New York City. Since then, he has imparted knowledge in various countries, including the USA, Japan, Nigeria, and Singapore. His teaching experience spans across all educational levels, from primary and secondary to university students. In his diverse teaching journey, he has covered the US and the IB curriculum, instructing subjects, including English as a Second Language, drama, theatre arts, and Theater in Education.
His teaching philosophy centres on inspiring students to discover the power of the arts and to unleash their creativity. At OWIS Digital Campus, he eagerly anticipates orchestrating student performances on the splendid new stages integrated into the facility.
Warren relocated to Singapore in 2013 and has since cherished the country’s diversity and low crime rate. During his leisure hours, he enjoys watching theatrical performances and exploring diverse culinary experiences.

Johan Ezran
Johan possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Nanyang Technological University, a Diploma in Music Education from the National Institute of Education, and a Diploma in Music Teaching from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, all located in Singapore.
For the past five years, he has been teaching Lower Secondary Music, Music Elective Programme, and Lower Secondary Drama. His teaching philosophy centres on the belief that education goes beyond the mere transmission of knowledge; it also involves cultivating critical thinking, nurturing curiosity, and instilling a genuine passion for learning in every student. With more than six years of experience in teaching Art and Mandarin, her educational philosophy revolves around fostering an inclusive and diverse learning atmosphere. Her goal is to nurture students’ critical thinking skills, encourage them to articulate their creative concepts and facilitate effective visual communication. Yawen has lived in Singapore for nearly 15 years with her Singaporean husband. In her leisure time, she enjoys drawing and savouring delicious cuisine by the beach.

Edrea Chong
Edrea has over seven years of experience teaching physical education to Grades 1 to 6 in various MOE schools in Singapore. She holds a Bachelor of Sports and Physical Education with a Minor in Sociology from the Singapore University of Social Sciences and a Diploma in Education with Credit from the National Institute of Education.
Kindness and compassion stand out as the primary OWIS values that deeply resonate with Edrea. She holds a strong belief that these values should be inculcated to students at a very young age. In her role as an educator, she has the conviction that imparting these values to children through play during their impressionable years is her essential responsibility.

Dzul holds a BA in Sports Studies and Development from the University Of Wolverhampton, a Master of Sports Coaching from the University Of Queensland, and a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Sciences from the Republic Polytechnic.
He boasts more than 15 years of experience in the fields of education, sports, and exercise, with a primary focus on physical education, football, multi-sports, and combat. Throughout this extensive career, he has had the privilege of collaborating with individuals spanning various age groups and educational backgrounds. These have encompassed children, teenagers, at-risk students, college attendees, and professional athletes. Furthermore, Dzul has lent his expertise to special populations, extending support and guidance to individuals with Down syndrome and autism.
While his upbringing involved traditional sports like football and track, Dzul’s journey also led him to explore a diverse range of physical activities. He ventured into weightlifting, parkour, and martial arts like Muay Thai, and even embraced the challenges of rock climbing.
His teaching philosophy is characterized by a flexible approach that embraces various theories and styles to gain complementary insights into a subject. Rather than adhering to a fixed set of assumptions, he adapts his teaching style to the specific settings and students, making decisions based on what best suits the situation. Consequently, each class he teaches is unique, requiring him to adapt to the evolving strengths and weaknesses of his students.

Carlos Hernández-Sonseca Hervás
Carlos brings forth over a decade of experience engaging with children both within the classroom setting, where he served as a teacher ranging from Kindergarten to High School and beyond the classroom, contributing as an instructor in summer camps and a dedicated football coach. Notably, as a Spanish teacher, he achieved a significant milestone by designing a successful syllabus for one of the international schools in Singapore. His efforts earned commendable feedback from both the school management and families.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching from Instituto Cervantes, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Nottingham.

JingJing Miao (Jacqueline)
Jacqueline comes from Wenzhou, China. She earned her Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese as an International Language from National Institute of Education, Singapore, and she embarked on her teaching career at an international school shortly after.
During that time, she also volunteered for many teaching jobs, such as Sunday School teacher, short-term assistant teacher and support teacher. She was an oral presenter at the 11th Conference of Asia-Pacific Consortium of Teaching Chinese as an International Language (Singapore).
She believes that only by making students “fall in love” with Chinese as a language and by arousing their interest in learning can they gain proficiency. To motivate students in her class, she leverages technology in the right way and makes learning fun.
When Jacqueline was young, she hated learning until she met a good teacher who made classes fun and this inspired her in her studies. From then on, she knew she wanted to become a teacher just like him.

With nearly a decade of experience in the field of education, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her teaching philosophy centres on captivating students through interesting activities and delivering customised instruction within the classroom. She firmly believes that language learning happens everywhere and may take any form. Acknowledging the diverse proficiency levels of Chinese language learners from different countries, she consistently strives to craft stimulating and purposeful activities tailored to meet the unique requirements of her students.

Li Jiazhen (Iris)
Iris has over 11 years of experience as a Mandarin teacher. She has taught IB PYP and has also been inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach as well as inquiry-based and student-centric learning, encouraging the children to explore, think, and use different ways to construct their knowledge systems.
She holds a Master of Arts Major in Teaching Chinese as an International Language from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, a Bachelor of Arts Major in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Sichuan International Studies University in China, and a Diploma Major in Early Childhood Care and Education Teaching from KLC School of Education in Singapore.
In 2011, Iris moved to Singapore to pursue her studies. Later in 2017, she established a family of her own. Outside work, she enjoys travelling and doing outdoor activities such as hiking.

Yuanyuan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s Degree in Art Design from the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts as well as a National Mandarin Teacher Certificate from the Ministry of Education of China.
With more than eight years of experience in the education sector, she has taken on various roles, including that of a Chinese teacher, Mandarin instructor, author of a Chinese textbook, and founder of the Wuhan Bilingual Language Learning Center.
Her journey in education was influenced by remarkable educators who left a lasting impression on her, motivating her to pay forward the impact by becoming a teacher herself.
In her free time, Yuanyuan indulges in her love for reading. Since 2016, she has been residing in Singapore with her family, and what particularly captivates her about the country is its cleanliness, safety, and overall convenience.

Sneha D’souza
Sneha is from Mumbai in India and moved to Singapore 12 years ago. She always felt the calling to become a teacher, and this led her to get her Bachelor of Education degree.
Since then, she has worked in many primary schools both in India and Singapore where she has taught children of varied nationalities. This experience aroused her interest in teaching children who come from non-English speaking countries and need help to develop their language skills. To upgrade her skills, she earned the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and trainers (CIDTT) and a certification for TESOL from London College and for teaching the PYP from the University of Windsor.
She believes that each child is unique and teachers have the responsibility to tap into their special attributes, so as to give them the confidence to learn and grow.
Sneha is a mom to two teenagers. She has a passion for baking, especially celebration cakes, and she believes that like her full-time profession of teaching, this brings out her creative side.
