Entry and Exit Criteria

Entry Criteria

To be eligible for the AEPP, prospective students must demonstrate a need for intensive English language support. This is typically indicated by a PTE (Progress Test in English) score of 2 or below. The assessment will be conducted under the student’s GL assessment. In addition to the PTE score, we also consider the student's academic history and completion of previous grade levels to ensure they are placed in the most suitable learning environment.

Exit Criteria

Students can transition out of the AEPP and into the mainstream curriculum once they have achieved a PTE score of 3 or higher. This score signifies that they have acquired the necessary English language proficiency to engage effectively with the academic rigour of the mainstream classes.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring

Throughout the AEPP, students’ progress is closely monitored through various assessment methods, including regular testing, progress reports, and constructive feedback. This ensures that each student receives the support they need to succeed.

Based on their exit scores, students may receive different levels of support when transitioning to mainstream classes.

  • Enhanced English support: For students who require continued language assistance.
  • Additional English support: For students who need some supplementary support.
  • No additional support: For students who have achieved the required level of English
    proficiency.
