This holiday season, students at One World International School (OWIS) Digital Campus demonstrated the true spirit of sustainability by creating a unique Christmas tree crafted entirely from repurposed shoeboxes.
As part of the school’s ongoing commitment to environmental awareness and spearheaded by the Christmas Committee, the project encouraged students to think creatively about reducing waste while celebrating the festive season. Shoeboxes that might have otherwise been discarded were collected, repainted, and transformed into a Christmas Tree. The final masterpiece stands proudly in the multi-purpose hall of OWIS Digital Campus.
This initiative ties into OWIS’s broader mission of cultivating globally minded students who understand the importance of environmental stewardship. By engaging in this hands-on activity, students not only reduced waste but also sparked conversations about how sustainable practices can be integrated into everyday life, even during celebrations.
This project is a shining example of how OWIS Digital Campus continues to inspire its learners to think critically, act responsibly, and contribute meaningfully to a greener, more sustainable world.
