At One World International School (OWIS), we believe in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow by equipping them with essential skills and insights. Our OWIS Digital Campus Leadership Series exemplifies this commitment, bringing industry leaders to share their wisdom and experiences with our Secondary students. The latest topic in this series, titled “Leadership Toolkit,” featured three distinguished speakers who are exemplary leaders in their fields:
Alexander Pavlovskiy
Vice-President in Technology at JP Morgan
Manickam Mano
Senior Director, Head of Global Sourcing for APAC at VISA
Imtiaz Mahbub
Vice-President for Markets and Indirect at Telenor Group
Part 1: Unpacking the Leadership Toolkit
Held at our black box theatre, the event began with our speakers delving into the core elements of the leadership toolkit: Humility, Integrity and being Genuine (Kindness and Compassion).
Our three guests underscored that genuine leadership entails acknowledging others’ strengths, fostering collaboration and upholding integrity as the bedrock of trust within any organisation. Drawing from their experiences, they demonstrated how ethical standards inspire confidence and motivate others. Furthermore, they passionately discussed the significance of kindness and compassion in leadership, showcasing how sincere care for colleagues elevates team morale and loyalty.
Part 2: Interactive Q&A Session with Student Representative
In the second part of the session, two of our secondary student representatives facilitated a lively discussion with the speakers, posing questions about leadership. The speakers shared stories of mentors who inspired them and discussed how they acquired leadership tools during their school years. They offered practical tips for students to demonstrate these qualities, emphasising that leadership is reflected in everyday actions and decisions.
The OWIS Digital Campus Leadership Series was a resounding success, leaving our students inspired and equipped with insights to implement in their own lives. By learning from the experiences of seasoned professionals, our students gained a deeper understanding of what it means to be a leader and how they can start cultivating these vital skills today.
This event seamlessly connects to our learning environment at the Digital Campus, where students continue to develop their leadership, critical thinking and collaboration skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. At OWIS, we are committed to fostering the leaders of tomorrow by providing them with the opportunities and guidance they need to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
