At One World International School (OWIS), kindness is at the heart of everything we do. It is our core value, shaping our community and guiding our learning approach. Every day, we strive to embody and celebrate kindness in all forms, fostering an environment where empathy and compassion thrive.
To highlight and further cultivate this essential value, we dedicated a special time this year at OWIS Digital Campus to celebrate Kindness Week. This week is filled with engaging and enjoyable activities designed to nurture and promote kindness among our students, staff and community.
The highlight of our campus was our Kindness Tree which blossomed as each member of the OWIS family added their messages written on heart-shaped sticky notes. We also featured a Be the ‘I’ in Kind and Wings of Kindness photobooths, a collaborative Kindness Quilt created by students from Grades 1 to 3, thoughtful kindness poems written by our secondary students and creative kindness crafts from individual classes.
On the final day of Kindness Week, we gathered for a short assembly where Mrs Angela Henderson, Principal of Lower School, shared an inspiring message about kindness. Our secondary students showcased a skit they had prepared, and the entire school came together to perform a dance that had been practised throughout the week in individual classes.
We would like to extend our gratitude to our OWIS Kindness Committee for organising such an enjoyable and engaging week. Your hard work and dedication have truly made a positive impact on our community.
