In the last week of March, OWIS Digital Campus hosted the FIRST® LEGO® League, an exciting event that challenged students to apply their STEM skills through hands-on learning and teamwork. The event was conducted in partnership with FIRST® LEGO® League. This annual competition introduces students to real-world scientific themes, encouraging them to think critically and creatively. This year’s theme is Submerged where participants put their skills to the test to solve a problem that threatens our sea and underwater ecosystems.
Starting with the Discover stage, our youngest learners explored STEM fundamentals by solving challenges and building models with LEGO® DUPLO® bricks. In the Explore stage, students advanced their skills by designing and building robots using LEGO® Education SPIKE Essential. Finally, in the Challenge stage, teams applied their knowledge in a high-energy robotics competition, testing their problem-solving abilities in a mission-based game.
OWIS Digital Campus had an impressive five teams from Primary and three teams from Secondary competing this year. Their hard work and innovation were evident throughout the event, and we are proud to celebrate our teams’ Best Newcomer Award!
Hosting the FIRST® LEGO® League in our state-of-the-art campus reinforces OWIS’s commitment to fostering a love for STEM and inspiring the next generation of innovators. We look forward to more exciting opportunities for our students to explore, learn, and lead!
