The OWIS Nanyang community immersed themselves in the magic of reading as we celebrated Book Week with a lively lineup of activities. From classroom adventures to inspiring author talks, every day gave a new platform to fall in love with books.
The celebrations included a colour dress-up picnic, where students dressed in colours representing different types of books. For example, they wore yellow to depict funny heroes, such as Spongebob Squarepants, or blue for heroes of the sky and sea, such as Percy Jackson.
Classrooms were also buzzing with excitement during the Mystery Readers session, when parents and staff surprised students by reading aloud their favourite books highlighting the joy of storytelling.
One of the biggest highlights was the author talk and book signing by Neil Humphreys. His humour, storytelling, and insights into his writing process captivated students, inspiring them to explore their own creativity and love for writing.
The week concluded with our Book Character Parade, a colourful and joyful celebration where students and staff dressed up as characters of their choice. The parade was a perfect finale, showcasing the enthusiasm of our school community while bringing stories to life in a fun, interactive way.
From start to end, Book Week was an immersive celebration of reading, imagination, and community.
