What is a unique aspect of the OWIS Newton journey that students can look forward to?
“Singapore has amazing sights and amazing exhibitions.”
Mrs Henderson shares her pride regarding the convenient location of the Newton campus in Singapore’s city centre, of which the school plans to take full advantage during learning journeys.
What advice would you give to parents choosing an international school in Singapore?
Mrs Henderson highlights two important actions that parents will need to take:
Firstly, with the wide range of great international schools in Singapore, parents will need to research the school websites to find out preliminary information on what each school has to offer.
Next, she advises parents to visit the school in-person to see the students and teachers in action, as well as the relationships and interactions everyone has with one another.
“Bring your child – you need to see if your child feels safe and secure and nurtured, like we have here in OWIS.”
What does diversity mean at OWIS Newton?
At OWIS Newton, diversity means bringing students together from different nationalities, cultures, traditions, and languages.
“We offer Chinese and French – and for our students who are Japanese, we also support them in their mother tongue.”
In bringing these cultures and traditions together, Mrs Henderson shares how the school can actively celebrate everyone’s unique festivals together.
