One World, Many Journeys Stories: Dhruv, IBDP 2026 Graduand

Dhruv is a long-termer at One World International School, having started his learning journey almost ten years ago in Grade 2 at the original Upper Changi campus. In 2018, he transferred to Grade 5 at OWIS Nanyang Campus when it commenced operations. It’s the memories from here that immediately spring to mind for him as he reflects on his school life, one month away from graduation.

There have been plenty of standout moments along the way, but finishing his final IGCSE exam remains unforgettable. It wasn’t just about completing the papers—it was the shared relief, laughter, and sense of accomplishment with friends who had been on the same journey.

Behind the scenes, teachers played a key role in pushing Dhruv forward. With high expectations and steady encouragement, they helped him refine his work and stay focused, especially during the demands of the IBDP. Just as important were the everyday interactions—conversations after class, moments of guidance, and knowing there was always someone to turn to.

What makes OWIS Nanyang distinct, in Dhruv’s eyes, is its sense of community. Without rigid social groups, students naturally connect across year levels and backgrounds. This environment made it easy to form friendships and, over time, develop a deeper appreciation for different perspectives and ways of thinking.

Now looking ahead to medical school, Dhruv carries more than academic knowledge with him. He leaves with strong relationships, a broader outlook, and the quiet confidence that comes from being part of a supportive community.
