One World International School (OWIS) Digital Campus had the honour of hosting acclaimed historian and author, William Dalrymple, as part of GSG’s Leadership Lecture Series. Our student panelists from Secondary School – Shravya, Danvir, Anugya and Dia – engaged Mr Dalrymple in a thought-provoking discussion on history and leadership. Drawing lessons from historical figures and events to highlight the importance of adaptability, vision, and empathy, Mr Dalrymple shared on the importance of history in every leader’s journey. He also discussed his new book, The Golden Road: How Ancient India Transformed the World.
The event captivated students and staff and provided fresh insights into how historical narratives shape contemporary leadership values. By connecting the past to present-day challenges, Dalrymple underscored the relevance of critical thinking and cultural awareness in leadership.
This lecture is part of OWIS’s ongoing commitment to cultivating global leaders. Through such events, the school inspires its community to think critically, act decisively, and lead with integrity.
