Who says Science and Mandarin can`t go hand in hand? 🌱📚
In Mandarin class, our Grade 3 students explored the fascinating ways plants disperse their seeds, bringing their Science knowledge into language learning!
Taking on the role of “young teachers”, they shared their understanding of seed dispersal with classmates in Mandarin and practised using descriptive language to create their own sentences.
At OWIS, learning goes beyond individual subjects. By connecting concepts across the curriculum, we help students reinforce what they`ve learnt, build confidence and see the bigger picture! 💙

Every Drop Counts: Building Empathy & Global Awareness💧🌍
This year, Wisteria House’s project centers on UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, exploring how a lack of clean water deeply impacts children’s health, education, and daily lives. To expand our impact, we invited all school houses to join us in partnership with World Vision for an eye-opening interactive session!
A major highlight was the Jerry Can Activity, where students carried water-filled cans to get a small taste of what millions of children experience every day-walking a minimum of 6 km just to collect water for their families.
Through videos and hands-on activities, our students gained invaluable knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the clean water we have in Singapore. A heartfelt thank you to World Vision for inspiring our young learners to understand global needs and practice empathy in action!

Physics in motion! ⚙️⏱️
Our Grade 9 students put theory to the test as they investigated the motion of a simple pendulum and judging by those reactions, science got pretty interesting! 👀
Working collaboratively, students measured the period of oscillation, calculated uncertainties and identified possible sources of error, before exploring how they could improve the precision and accuracy of their results. Sometimes, the best way to understand Physics is to see it swing into action! 🔬

What better way to celebrate Children`s Day than by welcoming the Australian Girls Choir back to OWIS Digital Campus! 🇦🇺
We were so happy to see them again this year, bringing their beautiful voices and infectious energy to our campus. Our students had the wonderful opportunity to sing, move and learn alongside these talented young performers through interactive workshops, followed by a spectacular performance!

Inquiry has officially begun in Art class for our Grade 4 and Grade 5-Bilingual students! To kick off their exciting Wear Your Story unit, these young OWIS artists dove headfirst into the world of textiles. 🧵✨
Their challenge? Exploring diverse cultural mood boards, textures, and patterns from every corner of the globe.
Through hands-on investigation and close observation, they discovered exactly how colour, pattern, and design act as a mirror, reflecting culture, place, and deep personal identity.
Using this rich cultural inspiration, they are now gathering ideas to design their very own meaningful creations. We can’t wait to see how they will weave their unique perspectives into their work! 💡🖌️
