The end of the first academic year for One World International School Newton Campus brought some exciting news – we have officially been recognised as a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), bringing the school one step closer to becoming a fully authorised IB World School.
Since welcoming its first students in August 2025, OWIS Newton Campus has quickly established itself as a vibrant learning community centred on academic excellence, student wellbeing, and internationally minded education. Over the past year, students in Early Childhood and Primary School have benefited from engaging inquiry-led learning experiences, enriching CCA excursions that leverage the central location of the campus, and a nurturing environment designed to help every child thrive.
The achievement of becoming an IB PYP Candidate School reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to providing a high-quality educational experience that develops inquisitive, compassionate, and confident learners. As an IB PYP Candidate School, OWIS Newton will continue working towards full authorisation while strengthening its curriculum, teaching practices, and learning culture in alignment with the IB framework.
Reflecting on this important milestone, Mrs Angela Henderson, Head of School of OWIS Newton Campus, shared:
