What a year it’s been for our OWIS Nanyang family.
Our Class of 2026 has just finished the IB Diploma Programme, and they’ve done something no cohort at OWIS Nanyang has ever done before. They’ve achieved the best results in our school’s history.
And they didn’t just do it quietly. They did it as our biggest IB group ever, 42 students strong.
A cohort to be proud of
Let’s take a moment to look at what this incredible group achieved.
They scored an average of 35 points, well above the global average of 30.88. One student reached the outstanding score of 43 points. Twelve percent of the cohort scored 40 points or higher, the most we’ve ever seen at OWIS Nanyang. More than half the group, 53%, scored 35 points or above.
And for the first time in our history, one of our students earned a Bilingual Diploma. A brilliant achievement, and one we’re incredibly proud to celebrate.
Our graduates have already received offers to some incredible places
Offers have already come in from top 50 universities around the world, including NUS in Singapore, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Sydney and King’s College London, with more offers still to come.
It’s a proud moment for our whole community, and a sign of just how far our students can go.
More than a set of numbers
Behind every score is a student who showed up, worked hard, and pushed through moments that felt tough.
The IB Diploma asks a lot of young people. It asks them to manage their time, think for themselves, and keep going even when the workload feels heavy. Watching this cohort rise to that challenge has been one of the proudest parts of this year for our whole school community.
Our Head of School, James Sweeney, put it best.
"Academic results matter to us, but they're not the only measure of success. We also value kindness, responsibility, integrity and personal growth. For many of our students, the IB journey wasn't just about the final score. It was about learning to think deeply, manage challenge and prepare for life beyond school."
A true team effort
Results like these don’t happen alone.
They’re built by teachers who show up every day, ready to guide and support. They’re shaped by families who cheer their children on through the hard moments. And they’re carried by students who choose, again and again, to keep trying.
