At One World International School (OWIS) Digital Campus, we believe that education goes beyond academic excellence. Our outstanding recreational spaces play a crucial role in fostering holistic development. Here is an overview of these vibrant, enriching learning environments:
Learning Commons
Our learning commons go beyond traditional classrooms and libraries, serving as versatile education spaces. These areas function as open-door classrooms for diverse student activities. Designed to inspire active learning, they feature an inviting atmosphere with comfortable seating arrangements. Students can engage in group discussions and independent study, fostering collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.
Primary and Secondary Libraries
Our libraries are vibrant spaces catering to both young learners and older students, featuring RFID-tagged books, user-friendly self-service book issue kiosks and smart book-drop machines. In our Primary library, we offer a diverse collection of age-appropriate books, interactive reading corners and engaging educational programmes designed to ignite a lifelong love of reading and learning. Meanwhile, our Secondary library offers a collection ranging from classic literature and extensive digital databases, encouraging our students to expand their knowledge across various disciplines. This library provides ample opportunities for students to conduct research, work on assignments and collaborate with peers, fostering an environment that promotes both academic growth and digital literacy.
Sports Field
Our expansive sports field, featuring an oval running track, sprint tracks and playgrounds, benefits the physical health and collaborative skills of our students. This arena is an exceptional venue where multiple sports can be enjoyed simultaneously, fostering a vibrant and energetic sports culture. The six-lane oval running track merges into a 100-metre sprint track with two additional lanes, creating an eight-lane track. Our sports field hosts events like football, cricket, rugby, archery and more. Additionally, it includes an adventure park designed for both light and extreme sports, featuring starlight-illuminating tunnels and rock climbing walls suitable for junior and senior students. These activities enhance fitness, wellness, muscle development, cognitive function and brain power.
Skytop Adventure Playgrounds
OWIS Digital Campus proudly presents a 50,000-square-foot playground facility designed to elevate the play experience for students. Our lower skypark provides an exciting environment for children to develop social and physical skills through play, featuring noodle climbers, wall climbers, a jungle gym, open slides and a bridge walk that enhances coordination and teamwork. The upper skypark offers diverse equipment to inspire various play behaviours, fostering creativity and problem-solving with features like open slides, spacewalk climbers and stepping pods, all designed to develop cognitive and motor skills. Additionally, our playgrounds include two basketball courts that also double as tennis courts, offering more sports and recreational activities to supplement our outdoor offerings.
Fitness Centre
Our fitness centre completes our health initiatives at the campus. This centre complements our physical education and athletics programmes, allowing students to partake in weight training and cardio workouts under the guidance of our dedicated PE teachers.
Butterfly and Edible Gardens
Our gardens offer serene and educational spaces that connect our students with nature. The butterfly garden is a delightful addition to our school’s natural habitat, allowing students to experience nature in a concrete space. Flowering plants, carefully selected by our gardening experts, attract a variety of butterfly species, providing pleasant recreation for our students. Adjacent to the butterfly garden is our edible garden, an initiative aligned with the National Parks Board’s strategy to teach students about indoor farming. Here, our students are encouraged to plant herbs and grow vegetables, promoting green living and sustainable behaviour. This organic space helps students understand their role in leaving a green footprint on Earth, embracing a farm-to-table approach.
Cafeteria
Our cafeteria is an ultra-modern, nature-themed café with a 500-student capacity, embodying several sustainability practices like natural light, green walls and reduced noise levels. The skylight concept allows abundant natural light to flood into the café, enhancing the alfresco dining experience within a serene and relaxing ambience. Our café ceilings are equipped with noise-cancelling acoustic materials to ensure that overall noise levels are lowered during crowded hours, aiding comfortable conversations between students during recess.
At OWIS Digital Campus, our recreational spaces are designed to foster a well-rounded education, blending academic excellence with physical, social and emotional development. These thoughtfully designed areas ensure that our students not only excel in their studies but also enjoy a balanced, healthy and enriching school experience.
