Big congratulations are in order for OWIS Nanyang, as the school has experienced its highest success rate with the Academic English Prep Programme (AEPP) so far.
The first six-month cycle of 2025-2026 has seen over half of the AEPP students from Grades 6-8 fully transitioning into mainstream learning with no need for any additional support.
In Grade 8 alone, nearly 90% of students graduated from the English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme, and nearly 60% of students across the cohort have moved on from the AEPP to the EAL programme.
OWIS’s AEPP and EAL Coordinator Ms Melissa Tolomeo and her team were blown away by how well the students performed.
“This cycle, our students have exceeded our expectations once more. As our cohort has grown, we have noticed that our students have gotten better and better, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.”
Similar success was achieved in the OWIS Digital Campus, with the following statistics:
- 42% of Grade 6 students transitioned over to mainstream learning with EAL support.
- 5% of Grade 7 students have transitioned over to mainstream learning with no EAL support, and 20% of students graduating into the EAL programme
- 48% of Grade 8 students have graduated to the EAL programme.
This means that a greater proportion of OWIS students are now able to participate, learn, and express themselves independently and with academic confidence – giving enormous credit to OWIS’s educational culture.
